Who we are

Caymo is run by Code Boutique (“we”). How to reach us is at the end of this page. How we handle your data is in the privacy policy.

The service

Caymo is in beta and free during it. It’s offered as it is: it may change, break, pause or end. Keep your own copy of anything important — you can download your data from Me, on the web.

Accounts

• You can use most of Caymo without an account. An account (with Google, or Apple on the iPhone) keeps your progress on every device.
• One account per person. Keep your sign-in to yourself; what happens in your account is your responsibility.
• You must be at least 13, or the minimum age for this kind of service where you live.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or harms the service or other people.
• You can delete your account at any time, in Me, on the web or the phone.

Your content

What you add — words, texts, notes, answers — is yours. Add only material you have the right to use for your own study. You let us store it and show it back to you, only to run the service.

Fair use

Some features have daily limits. Don’t automate the service, scrape it, resell it, get around its limits, or use it to break the law or anyone’s rights.

Translations and AI feedback

Translations and feedback on your answers are made by machines and can be wrong. They’re study aids, not professional advice.

Other people’s content

• Videos and anime clips play in YouTube’s own player, from the owners’ uploads, under YouTube’s Terms of Service.

• JLPT levels are unofficial. We aren’t affiliated with the Japan Foundation or JEES, who run the exam.

Premium

Premium isn’t sold yet. When it is:

• The price, the period and any free trial are shown before you pay.
• A subscription renews on its own until you cancel it. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews to avoid the next charge.
• Bought in the App Store: manage or cancel it in Settings › your name › Subscriptions; refunds are handled by Apple. Apple’s standard license agreement also applies.
• Bought on the web: manage or cancel it from Me; payments go through Stripe.
• Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a subscription bought in the App Store.

Liability

Caymo is provided “as is”, without warranties. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses or for losing data you didn’t keep a copy of. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that can’t be waived.

Ending

You can stop using Caymo and delete your account at any time. If we close the service, we’ll say so in the app in advance and give you time to download your data. What happens to your data when an account is deleted is in the privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

The date at the top says when these terms last changed. If a change matters, we’ll say so in the app before it applies.
